-- Mrs. Sarah Jordan died at her home on East Market Street last evening at 8:30. She had been ill for more than a year but only seriouly since last Wednesday. Mrs. Jordan was born Dec 26, 1850 near Alamo. Her parents were Richard D. and Amanda Wert. She was married to John M. Jordin in 1877 and has resided in this county all her life. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Chas. Sanders and Mrs. Mabel Sidener, two grandchildren, Austin and Edith Sidener; four brothers, Asher Wert and George Wert of this city, Joseph Wert of Wallace and Elnathan Wert of Humboldt, KS; two sisters, Mrs. Polly Myers of Danville, Ill and Mrs. Oscar Thomas of Chicago, Ill. Mrs. Jordan has been a member of the Baptist Church at Waynetown for a number of years. She was an unselfish mother, lovable wife, kind and loving neighbor and has devoted her last thee years to her fatherless grandchildren, Austin and Edith Sidener, who were the joy of her life. Mrs. Jordan will be greatly missed among her friends and neighbors, as she was always ready with a kind word and willing hands to help those in need. The funeral will be at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 and will be in charge of Dr. Duncan of Waynetown; burial in Oak Hill. - kbz

Mrs. Sadie Jordon, wife of John Jordan former residents of this town and vicinity, died at her home in Crawfordsville Sunday evening after an illness covering a period of several months. Mrs. Jordan was born at Alamo and was about 60 years of age. She was united in marriage to John Jordan in 1877 and is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Charles Sanders living northeast of this place and Mrs. Mabel Sidner who resided with her parents. Mrs. Jordan was a member of the Baptist Church of this place for many years. Beside the immediate family, she is survived by four brothers, Asher and George Wert of Crawfordsville, Elnathan Wert, Humboldt Kansas and Joseph Wert of Wallace and two sisters, Mrs. Pollie Myers of Danville and Mrs. Oscar Thomas of Chicago. Mrs. John A. Fouts of this place is a niece and Mrs. Phoebe Wert a sister-in-law. The funeral service was conducted from the home Tuesday afternoon by Rev. PO Duncan of this place and interment was made at Oak Hill cemetery. - kbz
